A category created by Dom Pérignon in 1936.
Soon after other grande marquees followed, Cristal, Comtes de Champagne and Krug.
Today growers and even artisan champagne growers have their own prestige cuvées.
And some of the Ultra Luxury Champagnes are also prestige cuvées.
